Beach painting, oil on canvas, 48 x 48.
Sizzle sand waves rise up in our mind just above the surface. We run to our designated umbrella and spend the afternoon shaded in what appears a village of shadows. After a while it’s a made dash to the shoreline for a swim. Refreshed, we take those first steps back confidently that our feet won’t burn but after 5 steps we are on the run again. Hot sand and summer, communities of figures under umbrellas like a mosaic in a squint into the sun.
